The Bangladeshi taka ended steady on Thursday, supported as dollar supplies flowed from remittances sent by Bangladeshis working abroad, dealers said.

Dealers said there was no price reaction to a call by the opposition Awami League for another nation-wide strike on Saturday, a working day in Bangladesh.

The taka was quoted at 59.32/59.3450 per US dollar, against 59.32/59.35 on Wednesday.

Call rates remained unchanged between 4.5 percent and 5.25.
